This is a great make for the children over the summer holidays. You can make it by hand or by machine which ever you like. It'll be great for when it's too hot and you want your hair back a little.
Difficulty level - Very beginner
You will need:
1. cutting out the fabric
Cut out two the width of the fabric by 10 cm. Then taper the corners at each end as shown.
2. Sewing the hair turban
Place the two pieces right sides together and pin . Sew around the hair turban 1cm in from the edge. Make sure you leave a 5cm gap one side so the fabric can be turned through.
Once sewn, turn the hair turban through the opening you left. The right side of the fabric should now be facing outwards. Iron the turban.
3. Putting in the wire - Optional
Cut the length of the hair turban of fabric plus about 3cm extra either end of wire. Bend over about 3 cm of the wire at each end and twist it around its self. This will mean the ends won't poke through the fabric as they won't be as sharp. Thread the wire into the fabric hair turban, you may need to bend it as you put it in, but don't worry that's the beauty of the wire.
4.Sewing up the opening
Sew up the opening with a top stitch, it won't really show as it's in a similar colour.
